AOKI Shigeru
AOKI Shigeru1882-1911
A Western-style painter in the Meiji Romanticism of Japan. His masterpiece “A Good Catch” (1904, the Bridgestone Museum of Art) was a monumental work at the beginning of the introduction of the Western-style painting to Japan. However he died at 28 years old untimely.
