YAMASHITA Shintaro1881-1966

A Western-style painter in Japan. He was affected by Renoir and introduced the Impressionism to Japan. He painted many brilliant works with soft manner. At first he was active in the Nika-kai, an advanced art society, and later in the Isui-kai, a society of the academism.
